Kam Air of Afghanistan to start Vienna flights |

Kam Air of Afghanistan will start twice weekly scheduled flights between Kabul and Vienna on Thursday 16-Sep-2010.
The service, which constitutes Kam Air's first connection to Europe, will be operated by Boeing 767-200 equipment.

The flights had originally been planned to commence on 03-Aug-2010, but consequently were postponed into September. Also initially the flights were expected to continue to London-Gatwick.
Kam Air is a private afghan airline, which was founded in 2003 and is based at Kabul. It operates a fleet of one Boeing 767-200, one McDonnell Douglas DC8-60 (which is not used for scheduled pax flights), one Boeing 727-200, two McDonnell Douglas MD-82/83, one Antonov 26B and one Antonov 24RV. Several Mil Mi-8 helicopters are used for cargo flights.
The B767 used to operate to Urumqui, but according the airline's web-site the service is suspended due to low season. The MD-80s operate to Dubai, Dushanbe, Herat, Islamabad, Mashad, Mazar, New Delhi and Tehran.
