Jade Cargo to start four times weekly flights to Vienna

Jade Cargo of China, in which Lufthansa holds a 25 percent stake, has announced, that it is planning to commence four weekly flights with Boeing 747-400F routed via Vienna.

The plans Jade CEO Kay Kratky has revealed are the establishment of a mini hub at Vienna and the introduction of a cooperation with Austrian Cargo, which has an dense network to Eastern Europe. AUA Cargo is planned to be responsible for cargo distribution in Austria and to eastern European countries.

The four weekly flights originating in South Korea or China will continue to Amsterdam or Frankfurt after their stop at Vienna.

Jade Cargo already had operated cargo flights via Vienna in 2008, but stopped the service after a number of flights.

Jade Cargo was formed in 2004 and currently operates a fleet of six Boeing 747-400(ER/F). Three of them are exclusively managed by Lufthansa on it's cargo network.
