Blue Air has announced scheduled flights between Suceava and Vienna |

Blue Air of Romania has announced the introduction of three times weekly low-cost flights between the city of Suceava (SCV) in the north of Romania and Vienna starting on the 15th of July 2009. Equipment to be used is a BAe Jetstream 41 that will be leased from Eastern Airways of the UK.
Suceava will be the sixth destination in Romania with direct connection to Vienna. Presently there are scheduled flights available between Vienna and Bucharest, Cluj, Iasi, Sibiu and Timisoara. Apparently there is sufficient economic interest of Austrian companies that have factories in the northern part of Romania, called Bukovina.

Blue Air is the first Romanian low cost carrier and is based at Bucharest-Baneasa airport. It was founded in 2004 with the help of Italian investors. It offers scheduled services to several European countries and domestic flights with a fleet of four Boeing 737-300, two B737-400 and three B737-800. An additional two B737-800 and three B737-900(ER) are on order.
