Aegean Airlines to start five weekly flights to Vienna in December |

Aegean Airlines of Greece has announced to start five times weekly flights between Athens and Vienna from 10 December 2009 using Airbus 320 aircraft.

In December 2008 the Greek airline had published an optimistic expansion plan, which included five new European destinations, one of them Vienna. The begin of operation had been announced for summer 2009, but subsequently Vienna was dropped.
Aegean Airlines is taking profit from the decrease of market share of ailing state carrier Olympic Airlines. Aegean currently operates a fleet of four A321-200, 17 A320-200 with an additional four on order, three B737-400, one B737-300, six BAe Avro RJ-100 and two ATR 72-500.
