Welcome at Vienna-Aviation.net!
The site you are just visiting went online in it's current layout on August 19th, 2009. Before that the
domain had been used to access my galleries at Smugmug, which is a picture hosting service.
This web site is already my third attempt - or should I call it the third step in the evolution(?) - to
publish my aviation pictures.
In November 2007, driven by the unstoppable desire to have my own place to showcase my pictures,
I took a premium subscription at Fotopic.net, which is also a picture hosting community.
In January 2009 I learned, that Smugmug offers some more features and let's you run a gallery combined
with some text-only pages. So I stopped updating my Fotopic gallery and started to extend my picture
collection at Smugmug, already using the newly registered domain Vienna-Aviation.net.
But soon I realized, that I felt the imminent desire to run a full-service, graphically advanced home page about the aviation scene at Vienna International Airport. Shortly after that decision I got in contact with
the web-design company Traumportal which was very supporting and in close cooperation and
hundreds of telephone calls this beautiful site was created.
Initially it features - of course - my aviation pictures, news about aviation at Vienna, information about the airlines that serve Vienna, interesting airline movements at VIE and an aviation link directory.
